Workshop Teacher & Nature Guide
Available in Frederick, MD and surrounding wilderness
After completing a requisite Bachelor's degree in French Literature at Hood College in 2000, Yael Edelstein stepped outside. As a visual artist, she immediately fell in love with the peace and beauty of nature. An exquisitely slow and tumultuous process began: a decades-long journey of shedding who she thought she should be to a true understanding of what it is to simply be. Yael started exploring the world of plants as an avid gardener, and has spent the last 15 years studying the habits and habitats of plants native to the Frederick area. Daily walks with her sweet pup, Pyro, in the wilds of Frederick County have forged a deep friendship between Yael and Mother Earth. She delights in the infinite wisdom and truth therein, and hopes to share some of it with you!
Spirituality is an extension of experiencing awe, and Yael is interested in how different cultures interpret the subtle rhythms of the universe. Her love of fairy tales stems from childhood, and she's travelled the world, studying both Eastern and Western folklore and philosophy.
Yael also teaches yoga (RYT200) and enjoys meditation, divination, sewing, cooking, Crafting, and studying the I Ching in her spare time.
Her love of nature extends under the earth as well to working with semi-precious stones. Yael is fascinated by understanding the energy of gems and minerals. She creates lovely, mindful jewelry that supports and protects the wearer, and offers personal talisman consultations.
