Julie's magical practice originated with childhood adventures in the backyard, and her academic learning began when she was twelve years old and discovered a book about the Chinese Zodiac. She studied it closely, along with any Western manuscripts on Alchemy that she could get her hands on. In college, while completing a bachelor's degree in English literature, she met Catie Peiper and began her practice of reading Tarot. Thirteen years later, they opened MoonHaven School of Magic to share the magic they had learned together with others.

Julie teaches and practices a wide range of academic and spiritual topics, including Ancient Norse Runes and Mythology, Astral Travel, Celtic Magic & Druidism, Western Spellcraft Modalities, Plant Magic, Ayurveda & Chinese Medicine, the Chinese Zodiac, Vedic Mantra and Mythology, Yogic Pranayama & Meditation, and more.

Julie completed her Aromatherapy certification at Anam Cara Apothecary in 2019, and she is currently working towards her certification in Herbalism. She is also an experienced teacher of Yoga and Ayurveda (E-RYT 500), and is conversant in Spanish & ASL.
