Runes, Tarot & Celtic Oracle
Julie's magical practice probably started with childhood adventures in the backyard, but her academic learning began when she was twelve years old and discovered a book about the Chinese Zodiac by Theodora Lau. She studied it closely, along with any western manuscripts on Alchemy that she could get her hands on all through high school. In college, while completing a bachelor's degree in English literature, she met Catie Peiper and was introduced to Tarot. Thirteen years later, they opened MoonHaven School of Magic to share the magic they had learned together with others.
Julie has a wide range of academic interests & artistic passions, including Celtic Druidism, Italian Old World Witchcraft, Chinese Medicine, the Chinese Zodiac, Ancient Norse Runes and Mythology, Vedic Mantra and Mythology, Jhyotish (Vedic Astrology), Chakra energy work, Western and Ayurvedic herbalism, the Ogham Tree Alphabet and Zodiac system, healing crystals, astral travel, spellcraft, Old English literature, Welsh mythology, creative writing, fabric arts, theater, musical performance, and dance. She is conversant in Spanish & ASL.
Julie is an experienced teacher of Yoga and Ayurveda (E-RYT 500). She competed her 200hr Yoga training at Sol Yoga in Fredrick, MD, in 2009 and her 500hr with the Kripalu School of Ayurveda in Massachusetts in 2016. She currently teaches Meditation, Pranayama, and Gentle asana classes weekly. Additionally, she has assisted and co-led Yoga Teacher Trainings, in which she covered philosophical topics ranging from the ancient Vedas to the European tarot deck.
Co-Founder of MoonHaven School for Magic
Throughout these years of exploration, Julie and Catie have enjoyed the company of other “witchy” sisters who are finding their power, learning from one another, and creating magic together, including magical tools, songs, rituals, and more. Julie is thrilled to have the opportunity to share this learning and sense of community with a wider population.
